Weddings are such magical occasions – and we don’t just mean for the couple celebrating their love for one another! The official joining of two families is something that makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside – or maybe that’s the prosecco!
All jokes aside, these love-fuelled events are important to everyone who atte
nds, especially for families who don’t often get the chance to meet up due to work and life commitments or distance. But weddings are one of those rare life events that are well known for bringing everyone home – no matter where they are in the world.
Just last weekend, Hog Roast Darton catered for Carla and Ben’s nuptials, which was attended by over 200 guests, many of whom had travelled from other parts of the UK and some who had even come from the United States, Canada and New Zealand! It was a big celebration, to say the least, but our catering managers, Darren and Claire, handled it with ease.
Our crew had arrived at the luxury venue long before the guests did, which gave them all the time they needed to prepare the formal feast. This epic banquet consisted of an impressive canape selection, which was served to the guests as they waited for the main course. Our whole roasted free-range pig, delicious slow-roasted turkey and grilled vegetable skewers followed these bite-size treats, along with side salads, buttered new potatoes and a medley of seasonal vegetables.
Hog Roast Darton wasn’t done yet, however! Next, the team sliced and dressed the couple’s wedding cake with ripe berries and a fruity coulis, which the guests were free to help themselves to in between their time spent on the dance floor or posing for pictures in the photo booth.
A few hours later, Darren and Claire and the Hog Roast Darton team treated the guests to one final treat: an evening buffet, which consisted of our homemade 100% British beef burgers, chicken kebabs with peppers and onions and sticky BBQ spareribs! The guests, who had worked up quite an appetite from all the partying, were delighted to end their night off with a delicious BBQ.
