This winter it is more important than ever to check in on your community, with the cost of living getting higher and higher. One great way to do this is by hosting a warm meal at your community centre, which gives local people the chance to enjoy great food in a warm venue. Here is one example of a menu that is ideal for this occasion!
A local community centre in Barnsley has been wanting to host winter-warmer events throughout the colder months to provide local people with a chance to enjoy a delicious meal with some friendly faces. Our catering manager Claire thought that this is a great idea, as we know how important good food is for bringing people together. The events will give the community a chance to get out of their homes and enjoy a change of scenery, while also getting to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner! After looking through our menus, Claire was hired to serve a classic hog roast to the guests, as this is the most simplistic yet delicious menu that we can provide.
On the day of the gathering, the Hog Roast Qarmby team arrived at the community centre to begin preparing our catering. The centre is always a welcoming environment, but it is even more inviting when it is cosy and warm and filled with the smell of our cooking! We began by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked excellently before it was expertly carved by our chef. The sliced meat was then served in fresh bread rolls, alongside safe and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. As well as the rolls, we also served homemade chips and seasonal vegetables to create a varied and nutritious meal!
At Hog Roast Qarmby, no event is too big or too small for our team and we are happy to help out with all kinds of catering events. To book in today, simply let us know your party size, date, and location and we can do the rest.
