And that’s exactly what our latest clients, Charlie and Ellie, did. Instead of splashing out on a fancy venue, this loved-up pair chose to get married on his grandparents’ farm. It was romantic, relaxed, and it saved them a ton of money to boot. Adding their own personal touch, they set up a massive tipi on the land, and when it came to the food, they went local with one of South Yorkshire’s finest: Hog Roast Barnsley.

On the big day, we turned up bright and early and got the grills going, ready for our hog roast.
The full pig was roasted low and slow until the crackling went golden and crisp – the kind that snaps like toffee under the knife. Underneath, the meat was soft, juicy, and full of flavour. We served it with our sage and onion stuffing (made from scratch, of course) and a proper applesauce. But that was just the main event.
There were also herby new potatoes, six big bamboo bowls packed with colourful salads, and every table had a charcuterie board to dive into – cheeses, fresh bread, cured meats, dips, all the good stuff.
And not forgetting the veggies? Grilled veggie skewers, optional halloumi, flatbreads, tzatziki, and a sweet chilli sauce with a bit of a kick. It went down so well that even a few meat-lovers were stealing bites.
Then came dessert. We laid out towers of profiteroles and dainty little tarte au citrons, each served with fresh berries. Because, let’s face it, a wedding just isn’t complete without something sweet at the end.
Charlie and Ellie were so happy with how everything turned out. They felt totally at ease all day, knowing our team had everything sorted, and that’s exactly what we aim for.
