This April, Hog Roast Oakes catered for a corporate recruitment day taking place at a local chain clothing store. The store is currently in the process of expanding to another location, which will require an intake of 30 new staff members, ranging across several job titles. To make this process as smooth as possible, the hiring manager planned to host a recruitment day to interview and shortlist the applicants. As well as the business side to the day, Hog Roast Oakes was hired to provide a delicious lunch for the staff and applicants to enjoy. After looking through our menus, it was decided that a classic hog roast would be ideal, alongside a few additional main dishes.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Oakes team arrived at the venue and began to prepare our menu for the 1:00pm serving time. We began with the main dishes, which included slow-roasted pork, veggie sausages, and succulent pork sausages. The mains were all served in fresh bread rolls, alongside a gluten-free alternative. For the side dishes, Hog Roast Oakes served sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, crispy crackling, homemade chips, and a selection of seasonal salad dishes. Overall, this created a varied and delicious menu and was an ideal addition to the event. The lunch was a great ice breaker for staff and applicants to get chatting and was a great way to release the tension on a busy and stressful day. It was great t see our menu going down so well and being enjoyed by so many people!
