Well, St. George’s Day may have come and gone, but we’re still buzzing from the action-packed celebrations here at Hog Roast Penistone! Whether you were swinging a sword, waving a flag, or just enjoying a cheeky pint, we hope you had a brilliant time. As for us, we had a whirlwind of a day, catering for not one, but two incredible events here in Barnsley!
Our day kicked off bright and early with a lively corporate event that had more energy than a dragon on Red Bull! There were Morris dancers spinning, Punch and Judy shows keeping everyone in stitches, and live music that had the crowd grooving. But that wasn’t all – there were also exciting workshops for staff and their families to enjoy.
Of course, all that fun worked up an appetite, and that’s where Hog Roast Penistone came in! We were asked to serve up our famous hog roast sandwiches, and let’s just say they were a smash hit. The rave reviews from all ages – from toddlers to grandparents – came pouring in, and by the time the last sandwich was devoured, the pig was practically spotless. We couldn’t have been prouder of our tasty creation!
After a speedy clean-up and a quick pit stop to recharge, we zoomed off to our second event – a private celebration hosted by the lovely Danielle and Richard. We arrived in plenty of time to get everything set up perfectly before the guests arrived, ensuring everything was just right. This time, instead of our signature hog roast, they requested a more traditional buffet, and we were more than happy to oblige!
We served up slow-roasted English lamb, infused with garlic and rosemary, and juicy mustard-brushed sirloin with rich red wine gravy. Oh, and let’s not forget the Yorkshire puddings – a true St. George’s Day classic! We also piled on buttery seasonal veg and golden new potatoes tossed in chives. It was the perfect spread for the 30 guests, and we heard nothing but compliments on the freshness and deliciousness of every bite.
By the time the celebrations wound down, our Hog Roast Penistone team was ready for a well-deserved rest, but we couldn’t help but feel overjoyed with how the day went. It was such a pleasure to be a part of two fantastic events, and we’re incredibly grateful to Danielle, Richard, and everyone who trusted us with their St. George’s Day celebrations. Now, we’re looking forward to next year – we can’t wait to do it all again!
