  1. Q) How Long Do You Need To Setup?

There’s an old saying we like to live by – “You can’t rush perfection.” And when it comes to roasting a whole hog, trust us, patience really is key. Hog Roast Barnsley will usually arrive bright and early to get things going, giving ourselves plenty of time to set up the grills and serving stations before the magic happens. The setup itself doesn’t take very long – we’re a slick operation – but the cooking does take a few hours. A full pig roast can take around five to six hours to cook through properly. A whole lamb roast can take half that time.

Don’t worry – we plan ahead so everything’s ready bang on time. And we don’t just stand around twiddling our thumbs waiting for the pig to cook. While it’s roasting, we’re prepping sides, tossing salads, and getting the finishing touches ready.

  1. Q) How Many Staff Will Be On-Site?

That depends on your event. For smaller, more informal parties, one of our catering managers might be able to handle everything solo. But for bigger celebrations, like weddings, corporate events, large family parties, we’ll bring a full team.

You don’t have to worry about unknown third-party servers though. We have our own waiting staff who can serve canapés and starters or top up drinks as your guests arrive. We also have a busy team of caterers who can man the buffet, carve the roast and make sure those sides look divine. Everyone’s fully trained, bubbly, and great with guests!

  1. Q) Do I Need To Pay Extra For Waiting Staff?

Not necessarily! Some of Hog Roast Barnsley’s set menus already include serving staff, so there’s no hidden charge there. If you’ve gone for one of our simpler packages and decide later that you’d like waiters, we can absolutely add that in for an extra cost.
